“depa” Announces 18 Software Developers to Represent Thailand in
“ASEAN ICT Awards 2020”
depa Building Ladprao – The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) announced the shortlist of 18 Thai software developer that will be representing Thailand to contest in “ASEAN ICT Awards 2020,” an international competition in information and communications technology (ICT). They are qualified for the next round to present their creative software performances and capabilities online before making their names in the competition’s final round in Malaysia in October 2020.
Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of depa , said the depa was assigned by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) to hold a contest to select Thai software developers to represent Thailand in ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA), where Thai software developers have won the awards for four consecutive years. It is regarded as a stepping stone for Thai software developers to be able to show their software creativity and capability at an international stage. The contest is divided into six categories, comprising Public Sector, Private Sector, Corporate Social Responsibility, Digital Content, Start-Up Company and Research and Development. The competition will provide software developers with inspiration and motivation to do more researches and developments to create new software for the benefits of the ICT industry.
“According to the depa’s mission to promote and support the development of digital industry and innovation, the depa is committed to providing growth opportunities to business operators in the ICT industry so that they can advance into a global level. ASEAN ICT Awards will present a good opportunity for Thai software developers to grow global. The competition also serves as the incubation stage for Thai business operators to become more understand about efficient business operations and managements. The criteria used in the competition cover strategies, unique and outstanding features and the capability of the software that can enhance competitiveness,” said the President/CEO of depa.
There were 32 contestants vying to represent the country to contest in the final round of “ASEAN ICT Awards 2020” in Malaysia. But 18 Thai companies in six categories are qualified for the next round of screening process through online software presentations. They are as follows; 1. Public Sector (PUB): Synergy Technology Co., Ltd, Smart Contract Thailand Co., Ltd and the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center. 2. Private Sector (PRV): Globish Academia (Thailand) Co., Ltd, Shippop Co., Ltd and Tellscore Co., Ltd. 3. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Join and Coin Corporation, Bangkok Tutor Co., Ltd and Local Click Co., Ltd. 4. Digital Content (DLC): Digitopolis Co., Ltd, Blue Ocean Technology Co., Ltd, and Yggdrazil Group. 5. Start-Up Company (STC): Trident Intelligence Service Co., Ltd, Robolingo Co., Ltd and Infilight Co., Ltd. 6. Research and Development (RND): T-NET Co., Ltd, Verily Vision Co., Ltd and iApp Technology Co., Ltd.

All qualified 18 software developers will receive support from the depa to produce online video presentation clips for a panel of respectable experts from 10 countries in ASEAN to consider. If they are qualified to contest in the final round, they will be receiving awards and their software will be presented at ASEAN ICT Awards 2020 in Malaysia in October 2020.
