HotelManagement Concepts brought to Life for Stamford International UniversityStudents in Blue Mountains, Australia
Four students of Stamford International Universityrecently had the opportunity to interact with and learn from students andfaculty at the number 1hotel management school in Australasia. Huyen Minh Tran, Steven Kleeli,Lapatrada Kaewmungkhun and Chaiyachet Kochkosai, students studying hospitalitymanagement at Stamford International University’s Bangkok and Hua Hin campus,were part of hands-on training activities and explored various possiblehospitality career paths as part of Blue Mountains International HotelManagement School (BMIHMS)’s Career Focus Day programme.
Fully sponsored by Stamford International Universityand BMIHMS, the four-day residential programme enabled the students to gaininsight into the operations of various hotel departments and they were able toexperience student-life at the BMIHMS’s Leura campus in Australia.
“Visiting BMIHMS was an incredible experience tolearn, hands on, each and every operational aspect of the hospitality industry;from the management side to front office. What I gained most was insight intothe level of professionalism required to be a successful hotelier as well asgetting an insight into what each department reallydoes in the hotel,” saidHuyen Minh Tran, a Hospitality student at Stamford International University.
“This was an opportunity of a lifetime. I got to seewhat perfect service looks like. Believe it or not, you have to be taught tosee with new eyes. BMIHMS was the ideal place to learn because the standardsthey set are so high. I learned that to be the best in the field, you must knowevery single step in the hospitality process and how to actually perform themso that you can lead by example– from top to bottom. We learned how toimmediately recognize even the smallest details – even things like the waycurtains in a hotel room are drawn,” said Steven Kleeli who studies at StamfordInternational University’s Bangkok campus.
