BOI enjoyed with business-matching activity
First 3 days generated trade value over 2,000 million baht
BOI unveiled the robust result of business matching activity in BOI Fair 2011. Only first 3 days, there were 650 one-on-one meetings emerged and generated trade value from product purchasing between Thai manufacturers and domestic and foreign big buyers equaled to 2,200 million baht. It is optimism that trade value from another 3 days of activity will reach the target of 3,000 million baht certainly and plan for the next step arranging business matching activity between Japanese investors and those in mould industry.
Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang, Secretary General, Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) unveiled the success of business matching activity held in Business Matching zone in Challenger Hall, one of many activities in BOI Fair 2011 that the first 3 days of activity held on Friday (6), Monday (9) and Tuesday (10) were over welcomed from Thai entrepreneurs and oversea big buyers. There were 650 business matching talks occurred in first 3 days of activity and generated value from business linkage around 2,200 million baht.
The majority of entrepreneurs joining in this activity comprised of domestic manufacturers and oversea big buyers including Delta Electronics, electronic part manufacturer, Robert Bosch, automotive part manufacturer, Thai Summit Auto Part, manufacturer of stamping parts and automotive parts and Chint Solar, Chinese photovoltaic industry seeking for business partner in solar panel producing project.
While the oversea big buyers participating in this program consist of 5 countries manufactures. Those are china-based machinery manufacturers looking for Thai machinery operators, water treatment and aircraft part industry from France seeking for joint venture project with Thai aircraft part entrepreneurs, Malaysian oil palm producer and exporter searching for machinery manufacturers for using in renewable energy development project such as BIO Mass, rubber part producers from Taiwan were interested for mould and rubber producers in Thailand and major broilers from Uganda were in search of manufacturers of equipments and machineries using in poultry farming.
“Domestic and oversea buyers participating in this program paid more attention and were success in business matching activity which focus on serving the real demand and supplying products directly to their counterparts. BOI expected that after the closure of this activity, we will see more value-added products purchasing activity in the near future and this will be an additional channel for Thai SMEs to expand market for their products at a greater level.” Dr. Atchaka said.
Mr. Narucha Ruchuphan, Director of BOI Unit Industrial Linkage or BUILD said that the department will speed up business matching activity between Thai SMEs and domestic and oversea manufacturers continuously for the sake of additional channel of business opportunity of Thai entrepreneurs.
The next step following the BOI Fair 2011 activity will begin with activity in March 2012 that BUILD will collaborate with Japanese Society of Die and Mould Technology (JSDMT) setting up One-on-One Meeting between Japan-Thailand Precision Technical Conference- Japan Quality Monodzukuri. This will be an interesting activity expanding opportunity for Thai Mould Industry seeking for business partners to expand to Japan market.
